Coconut Khoya Burfi

Coconut Khoya Burfi is a delicious sweet made during festivals and other occasions. If one needs to make a quick sweet, then this is a good option.


Fresh grated Coconut 200 g
Unsweetened Khoya 200 g
Sugar 1 ½ cup
Pistachios 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Ghee 1 tbsp
Preparation time 15 min
Cooking time 20 min
Makes 35 pieces



Text Procedure

Step 1
Grate unsweetened khoya to make it soft.

Step 2

Remove the brown part from fresh coconut and grate finely. You can also dry grind in a mixie.

Step 3
Keep stove in low flame. Add ghee and khoya and stir continupusly to make a creamy texture.

Step 4
Add sugar. Stir continuously till it dissolves.

Step 5
Add grated. Stir continuously till it thickens. Take sample and roll it. It should not be sticky.Now you can switch off stove.

Step 6

Transfer to a tray greased with ghee. Spread and flatten it uniformly. Top it up with shredded pistachios or any other nuts.

Step 7

Keep aside for 1 hour

Step 8

After one hour, make pieces and store. If you store in refrigerator , you can preserve it for 3-4 days.
