
Raw mango rice
Raw mango rice (bath) is tasty and delicious rice item that goes well with fryums and plain curd. Raw mango rice is known as mangai sadam in Tamil and Mavinkai chitranna in Kannada. The recipe is very simple and quick to make if we have cooked rice already. It then takes just 10 minutes. This rice is very popular in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Ingredients
Raw rice – ½ cup
Raw tart mango – 2 nos. (approx.400g)
Red chili – 6 nos.
Ground nuts – 2 tbsp
Channa dhal – 2 tbsp
Urad dhal – 2 tbsp
Mustard – 2 tsp
Hing – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – 2 tsp
Gingelly oil – 4 tbsp
Fenugreek powder – ½ tsp
Curry leaves

Cooking time : 30 min
Procedure
Step 1
Peel raw mango skin and grate
Step 2
In a mixie jar add half quantity of grated mangoes, red chili, hing, turmeric powder and grind to coarse paste.
Step 3
Heat 2 tbsp of gingelly oil in a pan. Add mustard and let it splutter. Add other ingredients like red chili,ground nuts,urad dhal, channa dhal and curry leaves.Roast till dhal colour turns to golden brown.
Step 4
Add ground paste and saute for 2 minutes
Step 5
Add grated mangoes and saute for 2 minutes
Step 6
Add cooked rice,salt,gingelly oil,fenugreek powder. Mix well. Raw mango rice (bath ) is ready

Serve with fryums and curd
