Puli aval (Gojjavalakki in kannada) is a tasty Karnataka special breakfast. It can be prepared easily in about 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Aval (Avalakki/Poha)- 1 cup
Mustard – 1 tsp
Red Chili – 1 no.
Ground nuts – 2 tbsp.
Urad dhal – 1 tsp
Channa dhal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 8-10 nos.
Grated coconut – 1/4 cup
Gingelly oil – 3 tsp
Salt – to taste
For dry roast powder
Red chili – 2 nos.
Dhaniya ( Coriander seeds) – 1 tsp
Black pepper -1/4 tsp
Urad dhal – 1 ½ tsp
Channa dhal – 1 ½ tsp
Hing – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Tamarind – small lemon size
Jaggery – 1 tbsp
Preparation time : 05 minutes
Cooking time : 10 minutes
Makes : around 2 cups
