Kanchipuram Idli

Kanchipuram Idli is a prasadam of  famous Varadarajar swamy temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. It is not only a steamed item like the conventional idli but has several ingredients such as pepper,cumin seeds,dry ginger etc that enhances its taste. Kanchipuram idli can also be eaten without any side dish.

Soaking time             : 4 hours

Preparation time    : 30 minutes

Fermentation time : 12-14 hours

Cooking time            : 20-25 minutes

Serves                         : 4-5 persons

Tried it out today. Followed the same measurements given here and the idlis came out very soft and tasty.
