
Kadhamba Sadam
Kadhamba Sadam ( கதம்ப சாதம்) as the name implies in Tamil, is a mix of cooked rice, specific vegetables and gravy made with tamarind water and roasted spicy powder all giving a terrific taste. It is a special and popular prasadam in several temples
Ingredients
Vegetables-(Sweet Potato, Raw banana, Avaraikai, Kothavarai, Yellow pumpkin) 300 g
Sepan kizhangu 3 nos.
Raw rice 1 cup
Toor dhal 1/3 cup
Tamarind 1 big lemon size
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Konda kadalai (Chick peas) 1 tbsp
White or brown karamani 1 tbsp
Roasted Powder Red chili 4-5 nos.
Coriander seeds 2 tbsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Bengal gram 1 ½ tbsp
Urad dhal 1 tbsp
Fenugreek 1/2 tsp
Garnishing
Sundaikai vathal 1 tbsp
Mustard 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Asafoetida (Hing) 1 tsp
Ghee 1-2 tsp
Gingelly oil 2 1/2 tbsp
Salt To taste
