This is a yummy sweet which can be prepared with very little effort and very little time. Neither it calls for an expert cook. Any one with basic knowledge of cooking can make it following the instructions. I tried this sweet recently when some guests had come. It was an overwhelming response that prompted me to immediately share it. With Navaratri festival 2017 fast approaching in a weeks time, i suggest you try it out.
Ingredients
Desiccated coconut — 1 cup
Milk — ½ cup
Milk powder — 1 cup
Powdered sugar — 1½ cup
Ghee — 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder — ½ tsp
Preparation time : 05 minutes
Cooking time : 10 minutes
Makes : Around 25 pcs
Procedure
In this post both step by step procedure as well as video procedure are given.
Step 1:
Add desiccated coconut 1 cup to a bowl. Add 1/2 cup milk . Mix and leave it aside for 10 minutes.
Step 2:
Now add 1 cup milk powder to the coconut, milk mixture. To this add one and a half cup powdered sugar. Mix well.
Step 3:
Keep stove in medium flame. Add 1 tbsp of ghee to pan. To this add the mixture and stir well. As the sugar melts, the mixture turns into a cream. Continue to stir.
Step 4:
Add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder. As the mixture thickens further, it leaves the edges of the pan and rolls easily. Take a sample in a plate and touch by hand. The cream should be consistent i.e it should be non sticky. Transfer the contents to a greased plate or greased butter paper. Flatten and make it even.
Step 5:
After 5 minutes make pieces with a greased knife and store. yummy instant coconut burfi is ready.
