Preparation time : 15 minutes

Cooking time      : 30 minutes

Total time            : 45 minutes

Serves                  : 12-14 slices of bread

Procedure

Step 1:

Wash the green gram and soak it for 4 hours.

Step 2:

Drain the water from the soaked green gram and grind it into a fine paste along with chopped green chillies, ginger, onion and coriander. Ensure that the consistency of the batter is thicker than dosa batter so that it is easy to smear it on the bread slices.

If required, add a little water to adjust the consistency.

Step 3:

Add salt to the paste and mix well.

Step 4:

Next, place a Tawa on the stove.

Once it is hot, take a bread slice and smear the paste on one side and place that side down on the Tawa.

Step 5:

Then apply the paste on the other side of the bread slice as well, as shown.

Depending on the size of the Tawa, you can place one or more bread slices simultaneously on it. I have used 2 bread slices for my demonstration.

Repeat the same procedure for the other bread slice.

Step 6:

Mix the finely chopped capsicum, grated carrot and shredded paneer and add the mixture on the bread slices.

Step 7:

Add a little oil around the bread slices and allow it to cook for 2 minutes until it turns golden brown.

Step 8:

Flip the bread slice and add a little oil and allow this side also to cook. Once this side is done the bread slices are ready to be served.

Step 9:

The toast tastes best when served hot. It can be served as it is or with sauce.
