Nellikai recipes/ Amla recipes/ Gooseberry recipes – In this video I show you how to make Nellikai pachadi, Nellikai chutney and Immunity booster drink using Nellikai (Amla/Gooseberry) Gooseberries( Nellikai in Tamil and Amla in Hindi) are low in calories and fat but rich in dietary fiber,antioxidants and vitamins C, B5 & B6. Generally we make pickles, candies using gooseberry. Nowadays Gooseberry juice (amla juice) is available in the market. In the recipes that i am giving in this post, i am totally avoiding cooking the gooseberries so that nutritional values are not lost. The gooseberry (Nellikai chutney/ Nellikai thokku) chutney are very tasty while retaining the nutrients.I also make nellikai powder(dry) which you can make and store in a glass bottle and it lasts for a long period of time.Immunity booster drinks can be easily prepared whenever required easily using the nellikai powder. I have shown the following options: 1. Taking the nelikai powder directly and then drinking water 2.Mixing nellikai powder in buttermilk and drinking it 3. Mix nellikai powder to the juice that we get after grinding tulsi leaves,ginger and add lemon juice,honey and salt. It will be an excellent immunity booster

Sesame seeds 1 tsp
Red chili 3 nos.
Chana dal 2 tsp
Urad dal 2 tsp
Hing 1/2 tsp
Mustard 1/2 tsp
Gingelly oil 3 tsp
