Complete fasting is observed on Ekadasi Thithi by many people. The day next to Ekadasi is called Dwadasi. People who fasted on Ekadasi day will have a Dwadasi Paranai ( துவாதசி பாரணை) on this day to end the fasting. The food is prepared with very little tamarind and khara.
